Being deaf is not a barrier

At Sambika, we are deeply committed to supporting individuals with disabilities, including blindness and deafness. As we continually strive to improve our work environment, we provide everyone the opportunity to demonstrate that having a difference does not always mean having a weakness.

Recently, the Sambika team in Madagascar visited AKA.MA, short for 'Akanin'ny Marenina' in Malagasy, which translates to 'Safe Haven for the Deaf.

Here is a message from one of our deaf employees to the young students at AKA.MA:

"Being deaf is not a barrier to achieving a successful and fulfilling career. If we hadn’t studied and been nurtured here, we wouldn’t be where we are today. A heartfelt thank you to AKA.MA and to all the dedicated educators who make this possible."
